I do early french 1740-1770's fur trade. Its real simplistic and with all the old timers retiring from the hobby you can pick up everything for fairly cheap. Ive got $500-$1000 in my set up.

Best part is my region of the states was first mapped by the French. So it makes sense.

Here is my daily wear LARP out gear. I do mostly 1750's French&Indian war and portray a French Trader/ milita. I also have done tall ship festivals as a crewmen and after a little wheeling and dealing and squaring away my passport I joined the crew and we sailed to Cuba for a week.

Ive posted my gear previously a while ago. Im still working on acquiring a nice frock coat.

I do French&Indian War reenacting myself, and French Voyageurs/long hunter. Townsends actually has some of the best, reasonable priced things out there. Ive bought a few items from them over the years.

Ive meet him personally at an event in Pennsylvania and he is as big of a geek on screen as he is off. He is genuinely a very nice guy and extremely passionate about history. He's like your favorite teacher/professor.

My suggestion is go to a fur trade show and buy out all the old reenactors gear. I got most of my kit here for about $500 or so.
