>>881332From what I hear, it's not defective or anything and they are just trash. It's not that the blade doesn't spin at all like when the line gets caught up, but you have to run it really, really fast to even get the thing started spinning and then maintain a ridiculously fast retrieve to have any hope of keeping it going. And even trying to keep with a faster retrieve, the blade doesn't spin 75% of the retrieve. The reviews on the website have a bunch of people saying the exact same thing and reccommending Rooster Tails instead. There are a lot of 5-star reviews too which confuses me and I'm guessing half of those people are retarded and have never touched a Mepps. A few of the bad ones are from "Top Contributors" too.
And that company is probably out of business. I bought those things years ago and the small companies come and go or just stay really local.
With good inlines, even with willow blades, you shouldn't even have to give it a jerk to get them spinning. After a cast or pause, they should pick up again as soon as you start reeling. With cheaper ones you just gotta deal with it sometimes but those Bass Pro ones are unacceptable. The blade doesn't start spinning, it gets stuck under the lure, and the thing shoots to the surface because the blade underneath acts like a wing.
