I grew up in Florida and did /out/ stuff regularly before I went .mil.
What I will say is that this state has specific challenges that make primitive camping quite different than what most people are used to.
As far as areas to camp, I recommend you reserve a permit for a campground on public land, there are plenty that are remote enough that you won’t see normies and you can have a blast.
TL;DR, I have an awesome spot but in the interest of preserving it, I’d rather not say. I will add that there are dozens more places exactly like it, just look around.
If you’re from out of state, you’re pretty much fucked. It took me about a year of camping at different places to nail this one down, and I had the help of over a dozen friends who also live here and camp/hike/hunt.
After I’m out of the .mil I’m moving to Michigan and enjoying a much better /out/ State.
