It's getting really really hot and humid here in the Midwest. The fishing has slowed to a dead crawl the last 2 weeks
>go to the lake 4 times in the last 10 days
>fished a cove with tons of cover
>fished a man made point that extends out into the lake about a half mile
>didnt catch shit all 4 times
What's going on? At the cove, the fish were exploding out of the water all morning obviously feeding really well. I actually saw a smallmouth bass launch itself probably 2 feet into the air. Still didnt catch anything. Even topwaters were useless.
At the point it was even worse. I could literally see baitfish right in the shallows and every once in a while a good size adolescent bass would swim by and scare them away so I knew they were there.
>football jigs
>ned rig
>drop shot
>weighless fluke
>topwaters
>weightless lizard
Used all these and didnt get a single bite. Is this just summer fishing in a nutshell or should I try a carolina rig or crankbait?
