90% of the places i fish, the only predatory fish are perch and pike, so they are pretty much the only thing you catch, unless you go to a put-and take (shit) for trout or hit the salmon season on the Swedish runs
ocean fishing has diversity but all i really care about catching in the ocean is mackerel because fuck, i love mackerel they are so tasty.
the whole country here is OBSESSESD with Cod fishing, mainly jigging for em, i get it, you can get some HUGE fish (pic related) but unless its a young fish they just taste like slight off warm water ...
seatrout and ¨garfish season is the only time i even bother with ocean fishing, most of the time it is bland and the weather is unpleasent, no trees to look at
>>2154447you get smaller ones on hot days in the shallows, and if its been consistently hot the big ones will fuck off, but here unless its a pretty large lake they tend to move closer to inlet/outflow waters instead and lurk in the vegetation leading up to those, lots of oxygenated water and moving water is cooler
