I was talking to the guy who was the "head of the archery" department for several years, according to him, give me wrong information like it was a fact, even after I tried to correct him.
For instance he told me that a recurve bow absolutely cannot fire carbon fiber arrows. I'm a complete beginner but knew he was full of shit.
I asked him after hearing him make a few mistakes, how long had he been an archer, and he said he'd never fired a bow. This was at Dick's sporting goods.
I never went back, actually went to a bow shop and the people there have been a well of information and even let me shoot my bow in their shop if I want when I come in.
Pic related is an actual photo from inside the Dick's, after I realized the guy was a complete boob I left, but first strolled through the bows to find most of the recurved bows were some-fucking-how put together backwards. I couldn't believe it.
