>>547336if you've never hunted with a knife/melee before dont be discouraged if you fail a lot at first. think about what predators do in nature. they target the weak. really young or old, injured, or otherwise just stupid. for success target them. my fist melee kill was a deer that was hit by a car.

>be huntin season. spot i've been sitting at has a young doe that hangs out there on a daily basis. think she might attract a buck.>after several days of watching her. notice she has a limp. end of day she lays down at edge of field.>decide to kill her because she wont make it through winter. dont want to shoot and attract attention since i didnt have a doe permit. knoife mode engaged.>i sneeki breeki'd my way along the edge of the field to where i saw her lay down. >my sneak ability is really high. as a kid i would sneak in the woods to see how close to animals i could get without them knowing.>the treeline curved in such a way that she wouldnt be able to see me till i was 20-30 yards away.>keep sneeki breekiing. sneak attacks with a dagger do extra damage. get to within 10 yards before she pops her head up and looks at me. i freeze and try to control my breathing.>she turns her head to look in another direction. when she does this i make my move. i rush the deer. >because of her fucked up leg she is slow to stand up. when she does get up and start running its too late. >i tackled the deer trying to pin those pokey hurty front legs. i pull out the knife and run it across the neck spilling her blood.>gain melee xp, level up. loot carcass.so thats my experience. good luck Opie. pic related is the knife i used. really nice knife. no complaints.
