They are much more aggressive than other freshwater predators, they will hunt in weeds and shallow water where smaller fish hide and bass n stuff won't go, and they can breathe air and tolerate water conditions that would kill off other fish. Plus I believe they breed twice a year and have tons of fry and guard them well.
Seems like freshwater fish in the US are fairly docile compared to other places in the world. The competition in Asia where the sneks come from must be more fierce so the sneks have adapted some ways to survive that are overkill for US waters.
