>>1895139Not going to say its impossible but its not a good idea. If you hook even a 5lb laker the fight will be miserable. I currently use an 8wt for lakers and will be upgrading to a 10wt for bigger lakers/pike/light musky. Sinking lines and big flies are the norm in lake trout fishing. The main forage for lakers in my waters is lake whitefish, so I mainly use white flies in various sizes depending on the time of year.
