>>2038742If you're an experienced backpacker find a good campspot with a nice view or waterfall, bitches love nice views. If you really are experienced, you should know what spots you've visited in the past that are not crowded, not buggy, are especially scenic, etc.
Personally I would get out of illinois to the appalachians or northern michigan (depending on where you are), but it's understandable if time is limited and she still lives with her parents
Your 2P tent will be fine, make sure you carry the majority of the stuff. And don't be afraid of bringing the normal stuff you cook and eat. If that's mountainhouse, bring mountainhouse; if that's knorr sides, bring knorr sides.
Remember you're introducing her to your hobby, so invite her into what you enjoy about it, instead of trying to change the experience to be something you're unfamiliar with. She will be able to tell if you're trying to change things to accomodate her.
Stay away from car camping, if you're a ULer you will hate it, she will sense that and not enjoy it either. Also you don't want to get her accustomed to car camping if the goal is to get into backpacking together down the road
You've still got several months so at least take her for a damned dayhike and bring your UL stove and have a cooked picnic meal beside a waterfall or at a scenic clifftop view, get her gradually used to different aspects of backpacking.
