IIRC I had suggested stone circle and in the meantime took a pic of how I handle trees in the lawn, to give an idea how it can look like (admittedly that willow is still small at a bit less than 2 years from taking it as a cutting, so you might want to size things up appropriately and plant more shadow-loving plants below, such as Hosta)
