if you really want to grow crops i would say go for some areas of mountainous Brazil like the "Serra Catarinense" or "Serra Gaucha" which have high German population due to colonization, good climate, fertile soil. The only thing you would like to do is some terracing due to uneven terrain depending on where you buy it.
