The main English speaking community of Europe is the UK, and they do an enormous amount of outdoor pursuits, but America is obviously a much larger less populated continent with a much larger population and the vast majority of traffic comes from there.
Europe contains dozens of nations speaking many languages, most of whom do not come to a fringe basket weaving forum. Almost every world record for being first to climb the highest mountain was broken by Europeans, and there is plenty of /out/ stuff going on. You just won't find it discussed here.
If someone makes a thread trying to talk about Europe then Americans will quickly talk about how if you are in the woods before 10pm then there are 10 million people around you, because they've never been to Europe, and especially have never been outdoors in Europe, or probably at all.
