I've been wanting to get into it for years and now I have the money to do it.
Trouble is I live in the midwest and none of our resorts allow uphill travel. My plan r now is to train by doing lots of roller skiing, cross country (if the snow allows) and running laps up and down a steep hill near my house to get my vert in. I'm already an ultra runner so this should be an easy transition for me.
If COVID allows travel, I'm hoping to do a couple races in New England in Feb/March and maybe do some actual ski mountaineering in RMNP in the late season.
