I found the small folding Sterno stove in the picture at Goodwill for $1.91 and thought it would be great addition to my kit. I purchased a can of Sterno and took it along on a canoeing trip. Normally, it takes just 5 minutes to boil the amount of water for me and my son to make Ramen (750 ml) however the setup in the pic took an incredible 41 minutes to bring it to a boil. I realize that the pot is rather skinny and doesn't fit the stove so a lot of the heat was just rising up into the air so I'm going to give it another try with a wider / shallower pot. A chimney type windscreen that directs the gases up along the sides would also improve performance. I actually purchased the stove to use with my open top side burner and pressure jet stoves but I've yet to try it with them.
