Tried spending one cold winter night in Hilux and fuck that shit, never again, could not sleep because of noise and vibrations and there was barely any heat because diesel doesn't make any at idle. I was also constantly afraid that fuel would freeze up and then I would be beyond fucked.
As for offroad capabilities unless you're into offroading there's less and less need for that since roads are everywhere these days at least in the western world.
