Now I wouldnt say i'd spend that much on a JDM ultralight, but having purchased over a dozen myself I can safely say that there are JDM UL rods worth up to $600-$700. No one else on the planet can make UL rods like the Japanese, hell, any rod like the Japanese.
You have no idea what absolute shit we have compared to their domestic market. I've owned $300 G loomis UL rods, I've owned St. Croix's "Best" stuff. When you pick up even a $200 JDM UL rod it makes them in the states seem like hot garbage.
