I am from Seattle so i miiiiiiiight be biased, but i've bought a fair amount of North Face and Mt Hardware and whatnot over the years, and the stuff REI is now making is as good if not better. If you don't want to gearfag it up then nothing in that range is going to be a good deal, but if you want something specific and technical, REI brand shit is good and way cheaper. I bought an REI pack for a trek through indonesia, it was great. Better than my previous NF pack for sure. Ok i sound like a brand whore, whatever. I'll admit 75% of what they sell is redic and for weekend warrior yuppies, but the other 25% is god tier. pic reltaed my current pack.
