Ground cherry (physalis peruviana) I don't have a pic of, but it's way different looking, more blue colored meaty hairy leaves, and it seems like it grows short and close to the ground (I guess that's indicative from the name lol)...
Chinese lantern (physalis alkekengi) grows on it's own here, as long as you leave the "mother" plant alone, only trim it down before winter, it survives the cold and sprouts on it's own..
Be sure not to eat the husk or leaves from any of those, and eat them when they're actually ripe!
