reel your bait up and let slack out of your anchor rod as needed to get access to your quick release. grab the quick release and remove it from both lines. take your bait off your hooks, remove the leader from the snap, stow it and your quick release for tomorow. go get your anchor rod, and pull your weight. the technique i see used most is pointing the rod near straight up and then walking straight back, grabbing the spool with the drag locked to rip it out of the sand. when you get your weight back, it usually has all 4 wires bent down, and always has at least two bent. there seemed to be a mix of ways the anchor weight was managed. some would leave it attatched to their anchor rod, bend the prongs back, and then hook it to their anchor rod like a fish hook, others would fully remove it and stow it, often by hanging it on something.
