I’ve also done the whole coastal section from Oil City to Alava, and it’s really great (I’m based in the Seattle). It rained torrentially the last 4 days, which bit a bit of a hamper on things, but it was nice cause the beaches were almost totally empty.
Yea I’ve heard about that. I’m meticulous about how I cash food no matter where I go, and always carry bear spray if I’m alone. Are you planning on doing the whole trail some day or just individual sections?
