Found a pretty interesting way to fish a crankbait the other day. I'm calling the method "Deadstick Cranking".
If you've ever seen those Live Target Sunfish baits (pic related), you fish it in a similar fashion. Cast the crank, let it float, and give it a small jerk every couple of seconds, then let it float back up.
What this does is, puts leverage on the bill so it dives down just a few inches and then comes to a floating stop on the surface. This mimics a dying fish very well and I nailed a few top water bass on it last weekend.
