I've driven to Wyoming and back or Utah or whatever for week-long trips multiple times, hell, I've driven down the coastal highway on a weekend for fun, and up it another time. If I had three months, I'd just camp at the beautiful sites all up the coast and have fun with it. Such a moody atmosphere, even in summertime...
