>>1923849No problem. I wouldn't even worry about a new handle unless the gap is just egregious. You can move the head further down the handle by holding the axe upside down and smacking the bottom of the handle with a mallet/hammer. That should close the gap. If you go this route, hammer a step wedge into the top because it will eventually slide back down through use.
