>>1365281Depends. Do you have private land available where there are a lot of animals and hunting is easy? Then sure. Just one deer provides a shit ton of meat.
if you only have access to public conservation land for hunting, it can be incredibly difficult to harvest an animal. I hunt on public land and my success rate is low. It is also tough terrain so i cannot carry out the whole animal, needing to make choice cuts butchering in the field.
On private land, like farmland, you can drive a 4x4 car to pick up the animal if shot in a good location, and then take the entire animal to a butcher.
I hunt because it is fun and the meat is a bonus. I try to avoid buying factory farmed meat if i am able to get wild meat. In new zealand we can hunt as much as we want all year round.
