I'm a dairy farmer in Australia (alpine Victoria) looking after a milking herd of ~300 fresians and jerseys with another ~500 beef herefords. Shit is pretty hectic this time of year because autumn calving runs right into silage season then hay season. Plus with a la-nina summer again, I've been tethering and raking the same few hectares of rye for the past month that keeps getting rained on with thunderstorms before if can get baled.
Oh it isn't my farm btw. The brothers that own it are old and decrepit, and none of their kids wanted to take over, so I'm one of three employees that farm for them. One of the owners just milks his "girls" and the other is the mechanic
>>2266328Minimum wage in Australia for farm labour starts at around $25 an hour. I make a bit over $30 with a raise every year to match inflation with no breaks or lunch taken out of it, just from clock-on to clock-off, so I make between $6-8k a month after tax. Satellite internet is expensive and slow as shit though
