But the most important aspect of hammock sleeping for me is consistency. How many times did you have a bad night's sleep because you pitched on uneven ground? Or discovered stones, sticks or pine cones poking you once you lay down? With a hammock the level of comfort is the same every night. I wouldn't call it super comfortable, like some people who swear up and down that they prefer a hammock to their bed at home, but for me it beats sleeping on narrow, thin camping pads even in perfect circumstances, and it definitely beats trying to sleep on the ground in places like this.
