You're most likely going to just see Timber Rattlers, which are pretty timid and have relatively mild venom (that could still kill you if you're way out in the bush). Just figure out where it is and back away slowly. Also watch out for copperheads, they don't rattle and they blend in much better with the leaf litter.
Just keep your eyes on the ground and you'll be fine. And if you happen to get bit by a venomous snake it's essential that you stay calm, an increase in heart rate will just circulate the venom faster.
Pic related, that's an American Copperhead. This one's just a youngin' but the bigger ones look the same. That little yellow tail is used as a lure to attract prey so don't go grabbing any mysterious yellow worms.
