Got the katanaboy for tree work and it will now pull double duty for camping. 3 pounds, very good grip, the folding mechanism and lock make it feel solid. The over all length is in a sweet spot, used it for two days back to back and it paid for itself and then some.
It makes dead limbing small pine trees up 8 ft, easy. And works well enough for sawing pitched out limbs on larger trees.
Be warned if you have never pole sawed dead limbs for hours. You are gonna get a new kind of workout.
But there is so much firewood just sitting on green trees. Firewood that is harming the tree with the dead wieght. And those low dead limbs are fire hazards themselves. Also possible, not easy, to use it to slash cut pecker poles in crowded areas. Even more good firewood is just standing dead in crowded growth areas.
