Any boots that feel like trainers but won’t wear through and compress?
Not a fan of
- EVA foam (because of its packout issues)
- fast wearing grippy soles like Altberg’s compounds or lots of hunting boots
- inflexible soles, ankles and shanks (had Altberg Defenders, like wearing casts)
- zero padding hardcore soles (eg Austrian Paratrooper, mine transfer a lot of shock to the knee and I have a heavy footfall)
Would like:
- unlined, unpadded
- PU midsole, good shock absorption
- hardwaring sole
- mildly flexible at least
- 6”+ shaft (kek)
- not insane heel stack height
-
- light (under 700g per boot size 11)
- decent lugs
- pretty, no LEMS boulder boots dadshoe
- leather or canvas
I have some Blundstones which I love. PU sole (probably hollow) with a harder compound on the lugs, light as anything, pretty durable (very durable sole over the last ~600 miles). Really comfy but can’t use them for distance or scrambling because of their sloppy fit. I enjoyed palladiums as a kid but they have very little durability. Will be using for daily wear and field work and saving trail runners for runs and long distance hikes.
