I stopped putting shit on my pack belt for this reason, who has time to take it off. If the belt was quick release somehow it might be viable but you'd have to remove everything to unthread it, imo you're better off with a secondary bag, maybe with a bag as small as you're interested in a separate belt kit or fanny pack helikon foxtrot type thing would work, but I've found it prefer a chest rig
Tldr the last thing you want to do when you're actually out is play with molle and shit especially if you got cold hands. The less fucking around with it the better
