>>2141362I was really focused on the whole "escape the grid" innawoods thing for most of my 20s but now I think I've had enough experience of it to conclusively say I'd much much rather live in my comfy suburb with a big backyard and go innawoods at my own leisure.
Don't get me wrong, if I could afford it I'd still get a cabin in the bush but I would like full-time here in my comfy house in the burbs.
I think the average dreamer just doesn't consider how hard and uncomfortable it is so live that off-the-grid lifestyle. It's not romantic like living in a fantasy novel, it's hard and miserable like being semi-homeless with a nicer view.
Just my two cents btw I'm in no way talking shit about people who live in the bush I have mad respect for anyone who can do that full-time. It's just not for me, I like my creature comforts (A/C, Internet, takeout, etc.) way too much.
