I'm trying to get a garden in the ground last minute. I have a few years experience with SFG but looking to try something different this time around.
I have untilled, fresh ground, currently with hay cover crop and want to convert it to a food plot. Say 30ftx40ft w/ infinite room to expand. I intend to eventually be no-till, but figure I need to do some now to get started. My main goal is to get a couple of rows of potatoes in the ground ASAP. Should I:
- build a few raised beds a la SFG
- half-ass Ruth Stouts method (till ground, mound into bedrows, add compost and then cover w/ hay)
-potato towers (is it a meme?)
I raise rabbits, also, so ample rabbit poop. Is there any reason not to just till that in with the compost I truck in?
