Camping anywhere else is asking to be spotted on someones land or property and told to piss-off. "Spotted" being the important word there because as long as you aren't seen of course you shouldn't be a problem.
Just the other week or so I camped just a little ways out of Llangollen in a woodland, very likely owned by someone, and had a nice enough time. People semi-regularly go out and camp on the nearby hill-sides or public woods too (more accurately I had with friends and got pissed at the same time) and as long as it's out the way its usually fine.
