I was hiking near Bend, Oregon at Tumalo Falls. I wanted to do the full path up to a place called "Happy Valley". It ended up just being a mountain bike trail intersection atop a ridge. I had to leave behind my friend because she was injured but it was her car so I kinda had to bring her along. You could just hike up to a waterfall but I wanted to go all the way up on like I think a 3-4 mile trail to a ridge top.
I was not sober. I jerked off at the top because I KNEW nobody else had done the trail that day. I had come to try the trail twice, first I think in May and it was totally blocked off, and then back in late June. Season is so short out there you really have to wait until mid July to avoid a fuckton of snow and ice near the top. I had to hike through snow and ice and water near a reservoir with downed trees. A lot of fun but I didn't get to the bottom until like 9:30 PM and they had just broken out flashlights to look for me and were going to call for help soon. I had great timing.
Recommend doing this trail during the early morning in late Summer or better yet Early Fall. Learned the hard way as a visiting East Coaster.
