I received 6 LEDs today. I'm gearing up for spring. I had to order new trays and some cells.
>>1430258It was nearly 70F here, in January! I was out in the garden all day pulling weeds that are growing in this warm weather. If it keeps getting warmer every winter, like it has for the past 5-8 years then I'll be able to plant more & more and grow for much longer without polytunnels or greenhouses.
>>1430327Nice, perhaps good in a salad?
>>1430330I think the compost value would be better than the actual seeds. This being due to the fact many of them are probably hybrids and you are always better off to attain seeds from local people who grow things seasonally. Farmer's markets are great places to meet people and get local cultivars.
>>1430382Just don't stare at them and you'll be fine, like other lights or the sun.
>>1430383Since you are removing a growing medium as complex as soil and replacing with with water, you'll need to give back as many nutrients as possible which will include macro and micro. Often times, experimentation and lots of research will be needed to know the "correct" amounts and those amounts will change and the plant matures and produces as well as be different from species to species or cultivar to cultivar.
You may need to use novel sources for specific nutrients in order to make a blend close to what you want it to be. The Kristalon Yellow mix looks to be heavy in P and more suited to flowering plants and root growth. I suggest checking out their website and seeing if there are mix recipes they recommend for specific plants you wish to grow.
>>1430432It is turning into an alien landscape! Hope it goes well.
