If it was simply instilled as a natural thing to do, because it's normal, because it's obvious, then it would work.
When you give it a name, people working towards it, and who keep on ranting about it, suddenly you become known enough to be hated on your own, and your message along with it. That's part of the reason why everyone here is anonymous, so we can't raise identities as an argument, which allows us to deliver a message, to pass unharmed by personal attacks.
LNT is now exposed to attacks that are far beyond its own scope. And that's a bad thing. People hate LNT while completely ignoring the fact that it's about leaving nature unharmed.
