If you ever wanna go down south to make an attempt at some peacocks and largemouth on a Saturday or somethin, let me know. There are tons of places out in Weston, Pembroke Pines, and Miramar. Plus of you are out west a bit, it's real easy to get to Weston if you hop on the Sawgrass. There are a ton of lakes out there. Some nice largemouth as well.

It's all about finding the drop-offs. I have learned a lot from that one older dude I always talk to at this one lake. He has been fishing all these spots for decades, and he knows where all these weed patches and shallow areas are in the middle of the lake that you could never see. Right around sunset, the bigger bass will come right to the edge of these drop offs and weed beds. On the rare occaision I will catch them lurking close to shore, but the big guys are always in the same type of area.

10 months out of the year, it is like fishing on the hottest August days in the rest of the country. That's why I pretty much always use Texas rigged stuff on the bottom. Casting them out into really deep water is the only way to get decent bass.

Jan-Feb is pretty much the only time I can fish topwater successfully or consistently get bigger bass on cranks and spinners.

Yup. This guy was on something very similar. And with the single hook on the top, they don't get snagged very easily so you can run them in lakes with lots of weeds. The rubber will get torn up eventually though, they aren't meant to last forever.
