Best US attainable wool blanket? I don't care how itchy it is, but I don't want something made of shoddy fabric (the textile term) or something that has the odor of the mechanic's garage floor (like Harbor Freight wool blankets; which are shoddy fabric too). The main thing is that I need a fucking THICK blanket, not this wee thin bullshit that's $500, and it shouldn't pull apart like it is made of cotton candy. 80% or higher wool blend is a must.
What pisses me off the most is that most places don't give a thread count or thickness scale of any kind and all the images look like thin blankets. They do have the weight of the entire blanket, but all of them seem to be close to 66x70 inches and 4-4.5 pounds. I need something like 12-16lbs at that size. I'm thinking of just buying several and sewing them together which will cost something like $200-$250 it seems. At that price I may as well get my own sheep and make my own blankets.
