>>1105343Yeah, I use some old school looking pouch on a leather lumbar belt, I just remove the water pouch from my pack and put it on the belt, roll up a waterproof jacket on top/hanging below the pouch and voila, a buttpack day pouch. Obviously it interferes with the backpack, hence why i keep it rolled up and I keep my map/phone/topo/snacks in shoulder strap mounted pouches or my pockets, but you really don't need much instantly accessible - consider getting some netting for the outside of you pack so you can reach back and grab things without opening up your pack
