The fish finder thing worked well enough that I'm going to glue it together. Fishing was ass, the winds were hard and sustained, algae had visibility down yo 2 feet at most, and I didnt mark anything except weeds and bait fish. That said, the transducer mount works fine, time for a glue-up. No one else I talked to had caught anything worth mentioning and the water was literally 80°
Only caught pic related and a few dink white perch. In a shallow bay behind a point. Maybe 3 feet of water where pic related was taken.
>>2187987Barbless hooks are 100% a thing. They're most popular with fly fishermen, if you want something truly barbless buy fly hooks. If you dont want to special order or drive out to a fly shop you can use pliers to "mash" the barb.
Barbed hooks are a double edgedswird, they come out easier, but they penetrate better. Doesnt usually make a difference, but in hard bony mouths like tarpon and esox I think it makes a difference.
Easier to put in, however, is easier to get out. If the fish gets some slack they will be able to shake the hook free with ease. solution? Keep tension on then.
