Daniel Carter Beard is one of the founders of the Boy Scouts and is just about the best /out/sman there ever was. This book was first published in 1882 and is still in print. His knowledge, experience, writing, and illustating talents make him a one-of-a-kind. It's a fucking great book, and cleverly it's organized by seasons. To most of the world the content of this book is forgotten knowledge.
