With a pooper you can fish super slow to moderate speed with as many pauses as you wish. Propeller bait needs a constant retrieve without pauses. Both work. Like I said just up to you what you, or the fish are in the mood for. As far as what baits, even the cheapest of poppers will catch fish so don’t worry about looking for “fancy” ones. For proppeller baits it’s basiclly the same but I try and aim for the mid priced ones because the cheapest ones usually don’t spin as well as the slightly nicer ones.
