the thing with OR/WA is that outside of about 3 metros it's very much red and rural. where I grew up in eastern OR for example could pass for something out of west texas (climate, geography, demographics pic very much related). a few hours west and it turns into your stereotypical PNW shitshow. (luckily i'm rural enough to avoid the trash which is filtering in from eugene as rent prices increase)
