If I dug a wide shallow pond towards the head of my property and planted some native grasses like cattails or bulrushes in there would it help clean it up? I ask because I was thinking about trying a farm system like the Aztecs (pic related) and I would imagine it'd be better if the water was cleaned up some because I would eventually want to try and raise native fish to the water system like bullheads. crappies and minnows.
