My sister actually came through on Christmas. She overheard me discussing the largely Japanese obsession with microfishing months ago, correctly deduced that it's something I might like to try myself, and did enough research to figure out she needed to get a telescopic Daiwa microfishing pole, acrylic tank, tiny egg shot, and some basic tiny rigging/end tackle.
Can't wait to try it out in the springtime. I fish for trout wading streams during the winter, but can't imagine that darters, minnows, dace, shiners, and sculpins are active enough to be worth going for right now... then again I'm usually wrong, so I'll have to do some research.
