>>686808Second year Biotechnology major with a Microbiology and Pathology subplan. Should be graduating with a Chemistry minor too
>Is it /out/?It could be. I could work as a field biologist or a chemist sampling stuff and analyzing it. I think it would be awesome to be able to go backpacking and collect samples of microorganisms from the backcountry but that probably isn't something anyone needs done. That's my only dream at this point. I'm probably going to end up in a lab doing clinical trials or pharmaceutical research
>Would you change it if you could go back in time?I'm really not sure because I haven't had enough time to see how my actions affect my life. I'm still pretty early on in my career. I would tell myself to talk to my professors a lot more though. I don't have a single reference for any applications to scholarships or internships because I'm very introverted and I'm gonna need those ASAP
>What are your goals as far as careers goI'd be fine working in a lab doing whatever for the rest of my life I think. I enjoy microbiology and chemistry and I doubt I'll ever get tired of the two. And I think one of the anons above had a good point about keeping work and play separate. If I had to deal with shitheads when I was /out/ it would get old really quick
I debated doing a Forestry major at Humboldt instead but I decided against it. I don't necessarily want to have a lot of money because it's just a means to fund my hobbies but I do want to be well enough off that I don't have to worry about budgeting and being strapped for cash month-to-month. Forestry just didn't seem like it would pay too well and /out/ isn't my only hobby
