But this year, the Apr-Jul period was 2.4°C warmer than the average (1991-2018, so the bar is already a bit raised), at the same time 27% less rain (and that which came often did so in short intense bursts so the rock hard clay soil couldn't take it up in our hilly terrain and it mostly drained off), and it isn't a very wet area to begin with - Apr-Jul had 149mm/5.87" in total this year
So I'm spending about an hour each day watering stuff in the garden - not even the lawn because I couldn't afford that, just have to deal with the fact it looks like a desert from May/June to September/October
