>>1222585Fuel injection is awesome.
>>1222390It's not a "public service" - club dues and sled registrations pay for a lot of that groomer, fuel, and maintenance costs. Don't know if you've priced out a somewhat modern Prinoth or Pisten Bully recently, but they're not cheap machines to buy or maintain.
That's one thing that kills me about some members of the nonmotorized community. They want the snowmobile clubs to groom """their""" trails, but they don't want to pay for it. "NIMBY".
Then when they legislate/etc to drive out the snowmobilers, the grooming stops, and they continue to bitch about that. So hypocritical.
Hear the same shit from rescues in mixed-use areas. Non-motorized users never want to see a snowmobile until they fuck up and have to call in rescue, then snowmobiles are the best thing ever.
Go ski/snowshoe/whatever in a Wilderness area if you don't want to hear snowmobiles. If you're skiing/snowshoeing/whatever on a mixed-use trail, show some respect towards other users. Goes a long way.
In my experience, the people that bitch the most are the weekend warrior types. The professionals, more "hard core" types, are a LOT more accepting and friendly towards other user groups. I see it motorized to nonmotorized, and the same thing coming the other way. I work with a bunch of nonmotorized guys and the pros I work with don't really care what your mode of travel is, though they might prefer something else.
