>>1998381I've got two wool blankets, a US army one and one that is identical in design but brown with no logo or tag on it. They're the thinnest blankets I own, yet they're on par with my thickest blankets for warmth.
I've also got wool gloves, wool socks, a wool scarf, a wool M43 cap, and a wool greatcoat. All mil-surp from various countries. And wool pajamas I paid $5 for. I am a very firm believer in wool.
>external frame packsAfter trying a variety of packs, I just use mil-surp ALICE packs. I've got a medium and a large, depending on how much shit I'm carrying.
>stovesI've got propane stoves, but I typically an Esbit stove when camping solo. It gets the job done, fits inside my mess kit, and is versatile and lightweight.
>lanternsIn my cabin, I've got old-fashioned kerosene/oil lanterns in every room. For camping? Not since I was a kid. Too much hassle. I've got an old Coleman LED lantern, a USGI angle-head flashlight, and a headlamp.
>stick stovesIf I need a bigger fire than my Esbit stove, I just build an actual fucking fire.
>full tang knivesI've got a Nepalese kukri, a SOG Demo II, and some old Schrade hunting knife. And an Estwing hatchet.
>canvasUSGI canvas pup tent. It's heavy as fuck, but come winter and cold, rainy, shitty weather, it's worth it. Also have a canvas parka (Czech milsurp) and old-school canvas jungle boots for summer.
